If I upgrade HULFT, am I able to run the new version of HULFT and the old version of HULFT simultaneously from the same license?

Answer
When you upgrade HULFT, the serial number from the previous version is moved and rewritten. Simultaneous usage of post and pre-upgraded versions of HULFT is a violation of the principal license.
